BE HARDWORWING (Joshua 19:24, James 1:25)

Br Kudzanai Duri, January 19, 2017
Part of the Year of Excellency - Prayer and Fasting series, preached at a Devotions service

James 1:25
But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues there in, he being not a forgetful hearer, *but a doer of the work*, this man shall be blessed in his deeds.
Football is the one of most exciting sport with a lot of followers worldwide. Why? Simple, amongst all athletes, footballers train more! They train every day. For soccer is played every week, sometimes twice a week contrary to tracking and racing which are completed once a month or year.
The more footballers train the more they become perfect. Great footballers train harder, they go an extra mile. Likewise, life is like football the more you train yourself to pray, work hard, think or use your brain or use your hands the more you enhance your chances of being successful.
Be willing to work hard, for God doesn’t want lazy prayerful people. Be prayerful and be hardworking! Don’t just sit home, be vigilant and find things to do. Be like a footballer who doesn’t only practice how to kick the ball but he also gym to be strong in case of bad challenges. Be prayerful, at the same time occupy yourself with dollar-sign-activities.
Every footballer knows that to be the best he has to give his best both in training and on front of his supporters. Likewise, to be successful you have to give your best both in prayer and at work or at school or at church or at home.

Dear heavenly Father, your Word has taken a centre stage. From today onwards I will materialise it through hard work in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
