BE VIGILANT (1 Thessalonians 4:11-12)Br Kudzanai Duri, January 21, 2017
Part of the Exposition of Romans series, preached at a Devotions service
And *from the days of John the Baptist until now* the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and [only] the *violent* [shall] take it by force.
Every farmer knows that purchasing or possessing the land is not enough. He has to plough it using a tractor. After that he has to buy seeds, fertiliser and chemicals. Finally he has to employ workers who will carry all the work and look after the machinery.
Likewise, just because it is from God doesn’t mean it has to be easy. God gave the Israel the Promised Land but they have to walk through desert, cross seas and flooded rivers, and fight and kill for it. Whatever you have been praying for, God might have already said yes. But it won’t fall on your lap without your effort and action.
One think l like is, those who spend time admiring their land without ploughing they yield nothing. After claiming it in prayer you must get up and take it by force. Birds are born to fly, notwithstanding the law of gravity. Fish are born to swim, notwithstanding the principle of floatation.
*Every child of God is born to win battles of life, regardless of all obstacles and challenges. Whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world!*
Dear Father, thank you for giving me the power to trade upon serpents and scorpions. And no weapon fashioned against me shall prosper, for in all things I am more than a conqueror, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
